Raised in the blitz and bling of Denver Metro Auto Dealerships circa 1985, Rick’s dream for his own repair shop started young. The idea of a neighborhood shop: trusted. Clean. Professional. A place providing big dealership benefits but without the big box price tag… this was unheard of. So he started at the bottom, working as a lot boy but rose quickly through the ranks. Determined to master every aspect of the industry from parts, to sales to service, he learned from the very best. So, when opportunity met with preparation, Rick was ready.
In 2005, his dream became reality as the doors to Express Auto Repair opened for business, with his second location opening in 2016. It’s been a great ride with tough lessons and a lot of hard work but he wouldn’t change it for anything. Rick, the patriarch, enjoys time spent with his family; a Saturday afternoon car show (his dream car is a 1988 Buick National GNX), Sundays rooting for the home team- he now enjoys all that Colorado offers. And yet – when the mountain takes the sun down and another day is gone – you’ll find him where his heart lies, with his bully dog – in the hearth of his home.
Ms Gina brings refreshing perspective and care to the team and the customers we serve. Her years in the aviation and hospitality industries shine through in a variety of administrative tasks here at Express Auto Repair.
Managing staff retirement, benefits, insurance claims, employee relations and more, Gina assists her big brother, Rick with a balance of wit, skill and grace. But – with a passion for community, she looks forward to spending more time outside of the shop in comin years.
Gina relays there are too many to pick just one but says she’s take the ’63 Shelby Cobra for a spin anytime!
Garrett is the ASE Certified Service Advisor at our North location with a decade in the industry and 20+ years experience in customer service. He tells us he’d likely work in the nutrition field, if not the auto industry but he appreciates the rapport we’ve established in our community and the standard of service Express Auto Repair implements for customers.
Garrett is enjoying the ability to care for and spend time with his young family, including a recent trip to Mexico with his beautiful wife! He enjoys music -plays the guitar now and then and rides dirt bikes on weekends.
His camaraderie with co-workers and the work hard – play hard dynamic Rick inspires combined with Garrett’s easy going personality with customers make Express Auto Repair the perfect fit for this music man.
William ‘Bill’ Martinelli leads the shop with a lifetime of automotive experience and multiple certifications including his Master Blue ASE. Having spent his childhood tinkering in his own father’s repair shop, watching cousins and uncles work on cars, Bill can’t imagine a better fit for him than Master Senior Tech for Express Auto Repair. (Although he did consider a career in law enforcement at one point… officer Bill? )
He is a family man at heart, spending most weekends with his amazing wife and 3 children, including his first son, who just turned one year old! Bill’s formal education combined with familiarty and experience on nearly every make and model car – and truck, make him the authority for minor and major vehicle repair.
Bill not only serves his family and the family at Express Auto Repair, he is also a member of the Army Reserves! And while we miss him a few weeks out of the year, we salute his service to family, community and the military he proudly serves.
David is our lead ASE Certified technician at Montebello with a natural curiosity for ‘how things work”. He would be an IT specialist if not for his love of the auto industry. David’s tenacity, attention to detail and professional growth is impressive but we are especially thrilled by his most important role as 1st time Daddy.
His son, Link, was born shortly after David came to work for us and watching him grow has been a pleasure for us all!! Together, they play video games at home and love to explore Colorado Springs on the weekends. .
Khamen is the newest member of our team who has already proven himself as a valuable asset to Express Auto Repair. His willingness to learn from and embrace the knowledge and experience of our senior technicians offer make his the perfect fit for our north location.
A Native to Colorado, Khamen has lived in Woodland Park his entire life. He enjoys dirt biking on the weekends and can’t wait to buy his dream vehicle – a Jeep! We’ve enjoyed Khamen’s drive and look forward to being a part of his professional growth in years to come.
Byler is the star Service Manager for our South location. He is ASE Certified and, having managed his own family’s auto service station in Western Kansas, Byler brings 30 + years experience to our team!
His understanding of vehicle ownership, what guests need, what their budgets comand and what it takes to get the job done is the refreshing skill that strengthens our team and those we serve.
His dream car is a 2018 Dodge Ram Pick Up Truck but until then, he enjoys the ability to spend evenings in the garden, long walks with those he loves – no bugs here! – and weekend daytrips, hiking in the beautiful landscape Colorado offers. But. More often than not, you’ll find him in the garage, taking it all in, tinkering away with a tale or two. And for Express Auto Repair – this works just right.
Anthony is the ASE Certified senior technician at our south location and has been with Express Auto Repair nearly 8 years. He brings 20+ years in general automotive and cusotmer service experience. Anthony ,also brings manufacturer specific knowledge and training, having worked in the dealership space for many years and was an easy choice for lead tech. Anthony’s ability to evaluate and repair vehicles is exceptional.
His commitment to getting the job done right the first time is unmatched. He and his sweetheart wife are both native Coloradans who have raised their tight knit family right here in the Springs – and that family is still growing today! In fact, 2 of his sons work under his guidance, for Express Auto Repair with a dynamic that is a strong one we all benefit from! His dream car is any model pre 1960! Anthony is an ametuer tatoo aritst who spends most weekends enjoying family cook outs and fishing, and, as with most natives, all things outdoors.
Seth began work at Express right out of high school and has worked hard to take the Lead Tech position at our south location. With an unmatched work ethic, committment to the customer and recent ASE certifications – this Colorado Native is solid! Seth has an unpretentios, relaxed style that resonates with both the staff and the customers we serve.
His work is methodical and consistent and we are excited to see where this young man’s road to success takes him but we’re thrilled to have him ight here at home with Express Auto Repair! Surprisingly, the ultimate dream car for Seth is a newer model Nissan Skyline. He enjoys time with family on weeknights and the Colorado Springs nightlife on weekends and says the only work he’s ever considered is the work he does today!
Austin is our newest technician performing general automotive maintenance with a drive that keeps us all on our toes!! His mastery of the basics combined with an eagerness to learn more make Austin a great asset to our team. Austin is a conscientious and detail oriented worker who is most excited to be the newest recipient of our Express Scholorship Program.
He is currently enrolled in automotive school with a target graduation in 2027. Austin is a native Coloradan who spends most free time with family and staying up way too late, playing video games with his brother. His dream car is a 1996 Supra.
